Travelers Guide to International Drugs - Medical Surveillance, Inc. has developed a series of handbooks to assist the world travelers in the identification of most popular over-the-counter (OTC) and prescription drugs in foreign countries. The purpose of these publications is to assist those individuals who need to obtain an OTC preparation or a prescription drug in a foreign country. Product names, the strength of the drug, and/or the formulation (capsule, tablet, solution) often differ in the various countries throughout the world for the same drug. By using these handbooks, travelers have a user-friendly, readily available reference source for many of these product differences. Readers are cautioned that equivalent products may differ in formulation from country to country. There are four Travelers Guide handbooks available.
All of the handbooks in the Travelers Guide to International Drugs series have been developed in an easy to read tabular format. Medications are arranged in alphabetical order according to the U.S. brand (trade) names. Prescription drugs are found in the first section and OTC preparations are listed in the second section.
