We are pleased to have plublished the 19th Edition of the Handbook of Commonly Prescribed Drugs (With Therapeutic, Toxic and Lethal Levels). With this edition we have been providing this handbook for 20 years! Based on the positive feedback that we have received from clinicians who have used prior editions, all of the sections found in the previous edition have been maintained.
As in all previous editions, the drugs listed, the preparations which are available, and the therapeutic dosages have been edited to reflect the most recent information that could be found. In this edition, there are 34 new therapeutic and dosage forms and listed below are some of the new individual therapeutic agents that have been added to this edition:
This handbook has been published in order to provide medical personnel with a concise reference source for drug names, the preparations available, and common dosages in adults in a tabular format. Although the pocket size of the handbook has been exceptionally popular (with well over 1,000,000 copies in circulation of over the 20 years of publication), because of the ever-expanding number of drugs, preparations and indications, the book was getting so large that it became more difficult to fit it into a jacket or laboratory coat pocket and carried. Therefore we offer to you a smaller version (a "Shirt Pocket" edition) which can be carried throughout the hospital, emergency room and classroom or the original size, which still is perfect for the desk or lab coat pocket. Both are useful and both are well received.
